The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has successfully concluded a 24-hour innovation bootcamp designed to support and elevate startups across the country. Running from April 25, 2025, at 9 AM, the event brought together 10 dynamic startups for an intense day of creativity, collaboration, and competition.
This bootcamp is part of UCC’s broader initiative under the theme “Leaving No One Behind in the Digital Era,” focusing on driving the adoption of technology among Ugandan companies and underserved communities.

Participants tackled real-world challenges and collaborated on projects across a broad spectrum of sectors, including e-commerce, e-health, e-agriculture, e-education, and e-governance. The competition intentionally had no restrictive target areas, allowing for a diversity of ideas and encouraging inclusive participation.
At its core, the bootcamp aimed to address key barriers that many Ugandan startups and communities face—particularly limited access to funding, technical expertise, and digital resources. By providing a dynamic platform for networking, mentorship, and rapid prototyping, UCC continues to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing a tech ecosystem that works for all Ugandans, regardless of geography or economic status.
The event was more than just a competition; it was a springboard for sustainable innovation. Teams that showcased promising solutions were given opportunities for further mentorship and access to potential funding sources, ensuring that their innovations could move from concept to reality.
As Uganda continues its journey toward digital transformation, initiatives like UCC’s bootcamp are pivotal. They empower startups not only to thrive in the current digital economy but also to create technologies that bridge the gap between served and underserved communities—truly leaving no one behind.
