MultiChoice Uganda Introduces Affordable 7-Day Subscription Packages dubbed “Ka Weekie” for DStv and GOtv Subscribers

MultiChoice Uganda, the home of great pay-Tv entertainment has today announced the introduction of flexible 7-day weekly subscription packages for both DStv and GOtv, designed to provide more affordable and convenient viewing options for subscribers.

The “Ka Weekie packages”, starting from as low as UGX 5,000 for DStv Lumba or GOtv Lite, ensure that entertainment is accessible to everyone, enabling subscribers to enjoy their favorite content at an affordable price.

Speaking during the media launch, Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, highlighted the company’s commitment to meeting customer needs. “We understand that our subscribers require affordable and flexible options to keep up with their favorite shows and programs.

The launch of Ka Weekie reflects our commitment to delivering value while ensuring entertainment remains accessible to all.”

With the ka Weekie campaign, we are offering DStv subscribers affordable, short-term subscription options. This is all about ensuring that entertainment remains accessible while allowing customers to manage their viewing needs in a budget-friendly way, he said, narrating that, “It truly reflects the flexible nature of our customers’ lives and how they require responsive and customer-centric solutions.”

The new launched weekly (7-day) subscription options cater to various preferences and budgets:

DStv subscribers can enjoy DStv Lumba for UGX 5,000, DStv Access for UGX 14,000, DStv Family for UGX 22,000 and DStv Compact for UGX 37,000.

While GOtv subscribers can choose from as low as GOtv Lite at UGX 5,000, GOtv Value at UGX 7,000, GOtv Plus at UGX 11,000, GOtv Max at UGX 17,000, GOtv Supa at UGX 22,000, and Supa Plus at UGX 37,000.

Speaking during the launch event, Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing, MultiChoice Uganda, said that MultiChoice is responding to the needs of its subscribers who have continually requested for flexible payment options.

To subscribe to Ka Weekie, viewers can use the MyDStv App, MyGOtv App, USSD *206#, Airtel Money, MTN MOMO, Banking partners and select Agents countrywide to enjoy their favorite sports, movies, dramas, and kids’ content across a variety of packages tailored to suit individual and family needs.

Asked about upgrades, “We have made it possible for a subscriber who moved to the 7-day subscription and wishes to switch back to monthly, quarterly or annual subscription,” Jamugisa explained, concluding that, “All the subscriber needs is full payment or sufficient credit on their account, less the prorated charge for their existing and active 7-day subscription product.”
