Kampala city businessman and company director of both Taifa Partners Ltd and Integrated Agritech (U) Ltd, Emmanuel Asiimwe is having a headache after spending a night behind coolers over refusing to pay an outstanding debt amounting to Shs66m. Asiimwe was paraded before courts of law and grilled to the bone marrow after court bailiffs hunting him down over a choking debt belonging to Mutecontra Engineering & Contractors Ltd. “He was arrested from his offices at Ntinda on Thursday afternoon by court bailiffs headed by one Rogers Abomugisha of Solab Associates”,said report. Asiimwe tried to fox around while tears running over his eyes before putting him on the next prison’s bus. Following a warrant of arrest execution number 0061 of 2024 arising from civil suit No. 10 of 2019, Asiimwe was paraded before his Worship Simon Kintu Zirintusa at the Kampala High Court (Civil Division). Asiimwe refused to pay Mutekanga, claiming that there was no written evidence over their business deals. Asiimwe also largest shareholder in Integrated Agritech (U) Ltd, subcontracted one Hussein Mutekanga of Mutecontra Engineering & Contractors Ltd to construct warehouses plus other project in Mbarara District. He also hired him to build warehouses for Col. William Omaria in Soroti district. Mutekanga completed the work to the satisfaction of his clients, who paid all the money through Asiimwe’s account. Mutekanga took the matter to court, and the judge guided both parties into signing a consent judgment after realizing Asiimwe’s apparent attempt to defraud his colleague. Although Mutekanga initially demanded over Shs100m, they agreed that Asiimwe would pay Shs66m in a structured payment plan. Asiimwe continued to evade payment which pushed Mutekanga to run to court for justice.
