Ministry Of Lands,Survey and Mapping Acting Commissioner Jasper Kakooza is sneezing behind bars with nine(9) others over forging papers on the Madhvani land in Gomba district.
Those arrested include: Kakooza Jasper also Acting Comm.Mapping and Surveys, Bassajjangabo Hakim also Senior Assistant Secretary Kabulasooke, Gomba district, Siwuliliza Andrew Sserunkuma also Chairman LC1 Mpogo village, Nakanwagi Gladys also former secretary Gomba District Land Board, Haji Kayongo Badru Ismail also former Chairperson Gomba District Land Board, Nuwahereza Allan Katakanya a Business Man, Mudenyi Gerald a Security Guard, Nabimanya David a Security Guard,
Ssenoga Abdu a casual labourer and Kisenyi Harunah a Boda boda rider after forging papers and trespassing on the Madhvani family land located in Musongole village,Mpenja division, Gomba district.
It is not yet clear how all these different individuals connived and forged papers over the Madhvani family land.
The ring suspects have been remanded till the 30th of April 2025 to think of court bail.
Also wanted is Deputy RDC Gomba Sitenda Nicodemus Mugalu, the physical planner Mugenyi Vicent and businessman Fred Kirenga are under investigations after grabbing part of another 600 acres.
Jasper Kakooza, and nine others have been charged and remanded to Luzira Prison in connection with allegations of double titling and fraudulent procurement of certificates of title for land in Gomba.
These and others still at large have been charged with Abuse of Office, Forgery, fraudulent procurement of certificate of title, forcible entry, forcible detainer, destroying growing plants and conspiracy to commit a misdemenour and a felony respectively. They have been remanded until 30th April 2025.
In 2024, the commissioner working with the accused and others still at large, fraudulently created overlapping titles on an existing title registered in the names of Madhvani Group in 1955.
