Now with the announcement of Nagongera Town Council- his cradle land, being elevated to a municipality, Hon. Onyango now eyes NRM for Nagongera Municipality.
Hon. Onyango is an Old Student of Nagongera Boys Primary school, born of Mukwana- Morwa zone within the newly created Nagongera Municipality.
He is a very blessed a man, a leader sent from heaven by the almighty God himself.
Hon. Onyango is all smiles after the good president Museveni agreed upon the elevation of his birthplace to a municipality status, thus giving him better chances of becoming the newly created Nagongera Municipality pioneer Mp.
The man from Tororo is all smiles as luck, blessings, success and leadership roles and responsibilities keep following him throughout his life; right from his nursery school days till now; the almighty God continues to make for him ways where seems to be no ways; with the creation of Nagongera Municipality, Onyango’s luck, blessings and chances of becoming an Mp continues to grow even much bigger.
Now, a son of the soil, Onyango will easily be welcomed by his own birthplace people of Nagongera, he is preparing to lunch his campaign trails very very soon to canvass the municipality and seek his peoples’s mandate to be their pioneer Member of Parliament.
About Onyango:
His father is a religious leader in Tororo district while his mother hails from prominent Mulanda village where some of the powerful government leaders come from, the notable ones include Ofwono Opondo (Government spokesperson), Charles Oboth Ofumbi-the former Defence Minister during Idi Amin’s regime among others.
Given this background, MP hopeful Onyango contends that his leadership ambitions are in blood and believes he is born a leader naturally.
Political journey
Hon. Onyango began his political ambitions way back while in school right from the famous Nagongera Boys Primary School, then at St. Kizito Primary School beneath the Tororo Rock, then at Rock High School, and then at Law Development Center, Makerere, where he stood for Guild president and lost to his opponent who garnered largest number of votes.
He attributes his leadership successes to God saying he is well endowed with God’s calling to lead people adding that his leadership talent, zeal, and prowess keeps following him wherever he goes.
He hails from Mukwana- Morwa Zone in Tororo district.
Work history
Hon. Onyango has formerly worked with Justice Centers Uganda Kampala, Agaba Muhairwe & Co, Advocates, Kampala, Nshemereirwe, Arigye & Co, Advocates, Defunct Crane Bank, Entebbe branch and at Entebbe International Airport.
At the moment, he works with Entebbe Municipal Council as the Head of enforcement unit at Entebbe Division ‘A’.
2026 Campaign slogan:
MP hopeful Onyango says his campaign slogan is dubbed as 18 Reasons and that it encompasses all the reasons why he has offered himself to go and deliver his people of West Budama North Constituency from what he describes as the bondage of suffering citing the biblical Moses, Abraham or Jacob, and that based on this he hears God calling him to go and liberate his village people from suffering.

He stands by the 18 reasons; the dream that he had while in S.6 A Literature class back then at Rock High School, Tororo in which God told him that one day he would be a Member of Parliament revealing that this very dream was repeated to him by God this year while at Entebbe Municipal council, when God reminded him that “his time to go and offer himself as MP is now and not tomorrow, “MP Hopeful Onyango revealed.
Determined Onyango says that once he is elected to represent his people he would begin with refurbishing worshipping centers in his constituency in addition to giving tithe to God every month in at least 3 churches per sub-county as a way of not only helping his poor people in churches, but also to give back to God for the gift of life and many testimonies in his life.
Besides that, he says he intends to extend government programs to the deepest parts of his constituency as a way of empowering the youths, women, commercial cyclists, farmers, Disabled persons and the elderly among other vulnerable groups.
He further revealed that he intends to fix all the dilapidated school infrastructures, health facilities and the neglected Tororo- Nagongera Road which is currently in very terrible condition.
